Does Wood Therapy Work?

I’m going to be straight up with you; When I first heard about the wood therapy body contouring, I was very skeptical. I thought, “how on earth is this person supposed to massage my cellulite, break it down, and then manipulate it towards the lymphatic system to be drained...?” 

My trainer swore by wood therapy and if you know anything about my life, you know I have the hottest personal trainer in the industry with the tightest bum! She was the one to introduce me to wood therapy, and because I trust her so fully, I decided to give it a try (if she told me a five-minute handstand a day would give me a bigger booty, I’d do it… lol).

I started doing wood therapy back in February with ‘Madera Body Contouring’. I met Heidi the owner, and she is such a sweet woman. She’s so passionate about what she does, and has a true gift for making her clients feel comfortable with their bodies. Wood therapy is just one important part of the equation for attaining full-body fitness results, my full secret is below.

WHAT IS WOOD THERAPY

The process begins with the massage therapist using a coffee scrub to remove dead skin which reveals new healthy skin. The coffee grounds improve circulation, leaving your skin smooth and giving it a beautiful glow. Once the coffee scrub is removed, they start the wood therapy.

They use a number of anatomically-sculpted wooden tools to improve the body area that they are working on. They use special techniques that sculpt the tissues, allowing the process to move and drain accumulated fat cells through the lymphatic system. This treatment helps to contour the body, reduces cellulite, and facilitates weight loss.

HOW DOES WOOD THERAPY WORK

The massage therapist works the desired body area intensely with the wooden tools, adds pressure which promotes the breakdown of fat and fibrous cellulite so that it can be eliminated naturally with other toxins through the lymphatic system.

This is just one of the many tools they use! The Vacuum swiss cup, is used to suction fat from areas of your body and transfer them to the lymph nodes, helping you to tone, and reduce cellulite.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH WOOD THERAPY AT MADERA

This natural way of implementing repetitive movements with the wooden tools to manipulate the stubborn areas of fat is surprisingly relaxing. When I first started going, it was a little bit uncomfortable because I had more cellulite around the back of my legs and bum. I go once a week now, after I workout with my trainer. It actually really helps with loosening tight muscles after an intense workout!

The wood therapy has been such an enjoyable process for me because it’s become a regular part of my life. The therapy releases toxins that are built up in your system from food, the environment, and it helps with jumpstarting your metabolism to assist with burning fat.

1. Eat relatively healthy

2. Workout regularly 

3. Wood therapy

For me, being consistent with all three of the above steps has helped me achieve a healthy fitness lifestyle. I’ve been able to reach my first personal fitness goal, and now I can focus on working hard on my next body goal for our wedding. 

For the last three months, I’ve really been focussing on growing my booty to eliminate most of the cellulite that has built-up from pregnancy around the back of my legs and bum. I’m extremely happy with my results, and I don’t think it would have been possible to achieve these goals so quickly without Madera’s wood therapy.

My goal for the next two months before the wedding is to focus on strengthening my core, slimming my waist down and toning my arms. The way I plan on achieving this is by lifting heavy weights, doing more abdominal exercises, and receiving the Hourglass Treatment, which focusses on the waist and stomach areas, at Madera.
