A Closer look into the Bateman Wedding
The Dets on our Ceremony, Reception, Food, Cake and more…
As requested by so many of you, here is a little breakdown of how our wedding day unfolded. I thought I would do something a little different this time and let one of my maid of honors tell you about the day, through her eyes as a guest at our wedding! Let me introduce you to Jolene Fyfe! Jo, take it away…
Wedding Atmosphere on Point
Magical, romantic and enchanting do not even begin to describe how absolutely stunning the Bateman wedding was. Imagine walking into a bright, airy, elegant room with floor to ceiling windows, dark wood accents, and floral arrangements that were like something out of a fairy tale.
The vows exchanged between Nick and Maria in front of a gorgeous rock water fall were straight from the heart. I held it together until Nick said his vows, “I promise to watch Netflix with you until our eyes fall out, to eat donuts with you until our teeth fall out, shop with you until our cards max out, laugh until our voice goes out, and love you until my heart goes out.”
My goodness Nick, way to bring tears to our eyes. The first dance was to Edwin McCain’s “I’ll be”; As we watched, the bridesmaids and groomsmen all joined arm in arm swaying back and forth while the couple looked lovingly into each other eyes.
The head table was lined with roses, hydrangeas, and greenery, beautiful tall stemmed floating white candles sitting atop mirrored table tops. Outside, they had cascading twinkle lights and rustic chandeliers hanging from the beautiful mature trees.
The crisp white linens draped from the ceiling as well lining the tables. It was nothing short of picturesque. I could go on forever… It truly took my breath away.
FOOD WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD
The food served was phenomenal; the starter salad consisted of a mix of hummus, butter lettuce, pickled onions, fresh cherry and sun dried tomatoes – it was out of this world. The choices for dinner were Chicken, Vegan, and Steak, and I choose the steak with no regrets; Perfectly cooked to medium rare with delicious thinly sliced French fries which were gone way too fast.
banana chocolate chip WEDDING CAKE?
Then there was the cake: A beautiful 4-tiered masterpiece with a simple textured swirl design of white buttercream frosting and fresh flowers. I had a tiny taste of the banana chocolate chip, and it was divine! It was very moist and fluffy, which is very surprising with my experience in tasting wedding cake. Shout out to the baker for creating such an elegant and delicious cake.
OF COURSE THEy had DONUTS TOO!
Now for my favorite part: The Donut Wall (Hilariously titled “Donut Mind if I Do”). There were so many flavors to choose from, and we had so much fun linking arms and taking a giant bite for our photo ops.
After donut photo shoots, it was time to dance. As soon as the groomsmen hit the dance floor, a circle formed, and they all had a dance off. Once the guys were done showing off their moves, everyone danced the night away to Bruno Mars “That’s what I like”, Nelly “Hot in here”, and so many other songs that kept everyone up on their feet.
A night full of LAUGhter
The night perfectly ended with the classic song by the Isley brothers, “Shout”. I don’t think there was a person sitting down for this one. The groomsmen got right into it lifting the groom in the air and toting him around while dancing in a giant circle around him.
A DREAM WEDDING
All in all, I have to say without a doubt it was the most beautiful wedding I have ever had the pleasure to attend and be a part of. It felt like there was a dream filter on my entire night. I am currently still on a wedding high, and I cannot wipe the smile off my face.
A huge shout out to their wedding planner Charley King, who was on the ball for every moment of that perfect day. And to Maria and Nick, I love you forever and always. Thank you for letting me be a big part of your amazingly magical day.
